Next Meeting:  The next three S.R-C.S. meetings will be Saturdays October 24th, November 28th, and December 26th (yes, really), 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.⁠  As always, feel free to stop by whenever suits you during that time frame.

IMPORTANT CHANGE – the October meeting will be held in Ballard.  We will be sharing our meeting with at least two other events.  The venue, located at 1140 NW 46th St., Seattle, is being considered for use by the upcoming Seattle Interactive Computer Museum, who will be discussing it while we are present; and Mike Begley’s annual vintage-technology swap meet will also take place there during that time.

Rik Lambey of the SICM gave a link to their FAQ, which should give some background on their efforts.

“This October, the SRCS meeting will also double as the annual Retro Computer Swap Meet, and triple as Rik Lambey introduces his SICM Beta project, showcasing a potential hangout space and small museum, in the Ballard neighborhood.

“This year, the Swap Meet will take place in a large, enclosed warehouse, so we are inviting adjacent communities such as the arcade game and vintage audio communities to the mix.  We’re hoping it’s a great opportunity for community crossover!

“Bring all your retro computer hardware, software, books and ephemera, and buy/sell/trade your way to the retro computer collection of your dreams.

“Rik will be giving tours of the attached office space for SICM Beta, a proposed hangout space & small museum for the local retro computer community.

“And, of course, we will have all the table space and power available for working on your retro computer projects you’ve some to expect from SRCS meetings.

“Altogether, it should be a full, exciting event.  We’re looking forwards to seeing everyone there!

I hope it should go without saying that if you bring something to Mike’s swap meet, or for that matter to our meeting, you are responsible for ensuring it leaves the premises afterwards. We only have access to the venue through the good graces of the landlord; as I understand matters, the SICM has not yet committed 100% to the space, so don’t be the reason their deal goes sour.

Any interested person is welcome to attend, whether having had prior contact with us or not.  Not sure what to expect?  Come on down anyway!  We only bite if watered after midnight.

There is a good amount of table space with power outlets to show off any physical items you might bring, and seating either way.  Catering is now on a pot-luck basis, so optionally, a bit of food to share is also encouraged.  If you do, no need to go overboard – enough for yourselves & perhaps 1 or 2 others is plenty.
